Already two videos of the concert with the Choristes in Banneux

The concert in Banneux with the Choristes of January 8th was a big success. Almost 3000 tickets have been sold, and for a very good reason, because it was quite a big happening. Hereby I’ll show you already two videos of the concert.
The first video is the opening song of the concert, “Barbara Furtuna”, with a leading role for Loïc Taillebrest.

The second video shows one of the final songs of the concert, “Quì sin’à l’umanità”, with a leading role for Alain. But before he can start to sing there is first the splendid Jacky Locks who directs the game of whose applause will make the most noise: the one from the audience or from the Choristes. What a wonderful man is Jacky Locks!

Muvrini with Choristes in south of France

Festival de Perouges

Fortunately I Muvrini will continue their singing with the Choristes for a while. Because later this year they have scheduled another concert, in the south of France, in Saint-Vulbas. On Friday May 25, at 21.00 hr, to be exact. They will then with 200 Choristes participate in the Festival Printemps de Pérouges. This makes sense, because the study of the songs is so much work, and the concerts are so impressive and masterful, that it would be a pity if this would only be for once. New Year’s greetings of I Muvrini

Just received the New Year’s greetings from I Muvrini. Like a rainbow of languages. With it a wonderful video of: “A tè Corsica”, with the Choristes. Like a kind of foretaste of the coming concert next Sunday in Banneux. This was recorded on October 16th, in Amnéville, in northern France. First the wishes, and then the video….

Happy 2012: A Zitellina

2012 promises to be an exciting year for I Muvrini. Highlights will undoubtedly be the concert with the Choristes in Banneux next week and the concert in Paris on June 2^nd. Jean-François and Alain could not say after the recent concerts if the last concert would be the closing of the Gioia-tour, or just the presentation of the new CD. For there is in any case a new album in the pipeline, and the band will start working on it now. Given the positive responses to the Giru concerts in which several new songs were presented, it promises to be a CD on which the Corsican roots will more resonate. However the appearance of the CD itself promises to be a thrilling climax. We will wait and hear!

One of the new songs of the last concerts was “A Zitellina”. It is a song about mother Bernardini, but she is depicted in such a way that she becomes a universal mother. In this video you can fairly well follow the text that was projected on the screen direct behind Jean-François.

I wish I Muvrini, and everybody who reads this message, a happy, prosperous and creative 2012!

Concert Banneux with Choristes January 8, 2012

After the very successful concerts in The Netherlands and Belgium the concert with the Choristes in Banneux (Belgium) is scheduled. I know that the Choristes Mia and Ursula are already rehearsing with Jacky Locks and the other Choristes in order to make this concert a resounding success. Tickets are still available. The higher echelons of polyphony in Tilburg

I Muvrini sang in Tilburg on Monday, 28th of November. They were in exceptionally good voice. Besides beautiful polyphonic songs, they also sang classical songs but in an acoustic performance as “Ùn ti ne scurdà”, “Sarà”, “Alma”, and also….. “No woman, no cry”. Click hereto read the full story.

Corse Matin about the performance of Grand Corps Malade in Bastia

Naturally, the Corse Matin could not evade the performance of Grand Corps Malade with I Muvrini in Bastia, last Monday. Yesterday there was a sort of review of the concert in the newspaper. There were about 1,500 visitors who attended the concert. With the encores Grand Corps Malade suddely entered the stage to “slam” with I Muvrini ‘Una Terranova “. After that Grand Corps Malade and Jean-François Bernardini read the poem “Tu seras un homme mon fils” from Kipling, as you can see in the picture accompanying the article. Grand Corps Malade read a line in French, Jean-François reiterated that line in the Corsical language. It is a long poem and it made quite an impression, because everyone was deathly quiet during the reading.

I Muvrini and pupils Anima in Corse Matin

Yesterday there was an article in the Corse Matin about the performance of the pupils of the school of music Anima in Ghisonaccia, last Saturday. That performance was definitely successfull. In the afternoon Jean-François encouraged the pupils by saying: ”N’oubliez pas qu’un instrument de musique est comme un ami, il faut l ‘apprivoiser, apprendre à aimer, vous l’avez pour la vie et il est un lien social extraordinaire”. With these words Jean-François is saying something truthfull and well-chosen, which is almost impossible to translate. If I give it a try I make this out of it: “Please do not forget that your instrument is like a friend, one has to learn to control it, learn to love it, you’ll have it for the rest of your life and it creates an extraordinary social bond”.

Giru 2010 Bastia: a big party with Grand Corps Malade

The concert last night in Bastia of I Muvrini was definitely a big party. “Ora Sarà” and “Ùn Ti Ne Scurdà” unleased the audience and they went completely delirious. A big cheer rose up when Grand Corps Malade went on the scene with the encores. They sang “Una Terranova”, which is again a nice happy song to hear in the open air. After that Jean-François and Grand Corps Malade read a poem by Rudyard Kipling. It was again a memorable Giru evening yesterday, in Bastia!
