I Muvrini presents their Imagina-cd in the supermarket in Corsica

After the Belgian tour Jean-François and Alain Bernardini presented the new CD “Imaginà” at two Corsican supermarkets. The Corse Matin published this report, and wrote among other things that the title refers to the imaginal cells that appear during the transformation fron caterpillar to butterfly. The article also talks about the influences that can be heard on the CD: Bach, Mandela, Severn Cullis-Susuki, Martin Luther King and Gandhi. Indeed, a wonderful company that goes remarkably well together.

The Belgian tour has really started now

By , December 2, 2012 5:20 pm

Since Wednesday I Muvrini is staying in Belgium to lighten up the concert halls there with their music. The reviews are very positive, as this review shows of the first concert in Bruges of last Wednesday. Almost all concerts are already sold out, so hurry up if you want to participate in this extraordinary experience!

The reviewer says: “But the essence of I Muvrini is what makes them unique. These are the slow songs, the ones which go back to the Corsican polyphony, a style that thanks to this band has been given a modern identity in European music”.

César Anot takes us to Belgium!

Wednesday I Muvrini will resume their Belgian tour which they started with great acclaim on the third of November in Liège. Sometimes people ask me why I attend so many concerts, and if I am not getting bored with them. The answer is simple and straight: because each concert is such a great experience, with so much emotion and passion, that it never becomes boring. It is even stronger, I am drawn towards them, like a magnet. This sounds a bit exaggerated, and I realize it myself, but on the other hand, it is what you often hear from people who attend concerts of I Muvrini on a regular basis.
Fortunately movies show you much more than words can explain. Therefore this movie of “Ùn ti ne scurdà” of the concert in Liège. It takes 12 minutes, and contains everything the band stands for: great vocals, a guitarist who has undertaken the sitar, a drummer with masterful rolls, and above all a bass player who can sing so wonderful and is enjoying such an extremely catchy solo show, that the whole audience is carried away. Because bass player César Anot steals the show in this one, and he is also allowed to steal the show, because that’s also I Muvrini, the brothers grant the stage also to their musicians. As I said, the audience is carried away, on the boat, to Corsica, Ivory Coast, the native country of César, and back again to Liège. And we sing loudly with him “Pays-Bas”, “Anima”, et cetera, et cetera.
The motto of the song: “Never forget the day of your return, never forget the day of your return…” So, let’s not forget the day of Wednesday, the day when I Muvrini come back to the cold north, and undoubtedly will fire us all up with enthusiasm.

Imaginà in Le Trianon

Jean-Francois Bernardini in Le Trianon

Jean-Francois Bernardini in Le Trianon

Last Saturday I Muvrini presented their new cd “Imagina” at Le Trianon in Paris. The band brought on stage a full new program (with some exceptions). Actually it sounds very new and yet familiar, simply because it is still I Muvrini. I remember a song with strong African influences and a song in which the singing of Jean- François, Alain and Stéphane was in the foreground. Several songs had as its central theme the environment and pollution. Some songs were accompanied by new videos, which were rather scary but also very beautiful. The group was not yet fully accustomed to the new repertoire, but I had the impression they were happy to play something new. The room – without air conditioning – heated up, more and more, but that did not prevent us from having fun with them all!

This is the track list (including the titles of the spoken texts of Jean-François):
1. Principellu
2. Diteli
3. Eterna
4. Planet’s spring
5. Pè quantu mi vendi
6. Ùn ti ne scurdà
7. Pietà
8. Imaginà
9. Sì natu paisanu
10. Lurra
11. Pace Santa
12. A Collera
13. Polka
14. Fora
15. Hazia
16. À voce rivolta
17 Alegria di l’omi
18. Amsterdam
19. Dai dai
20. Inseme si pò

With all this new repertoire, the Giru promises to be an exciting event this year. Next Saturday (June 9) I Muvrini fans are invited to listen to the new CD in Tagliu Isulacciu. You must register here to make it possible for I Muvrini to be well prepared to receive a large group of people.
